Raspberry Pi Update with Hexxeh

Almost reluctant to do the raspberry pi latest package updates when we started from the original setup, too many files and versions, stop in the middle installation, and pain !@#$%. But I found easier way to do the firmware latest update from https://github.com/Hexxeh/rpi-update, nicely done.

Here how to install the rpi-update :

@raspberrypi ~ $ sudo apt-get install rpi-update
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
  libblas3gf liblapack3gf
Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them.
The following extra packages will be installed:
  git git-core git-man libcurl3-gnutls liberror-perl rsync
Suggested packages:
  git-daemon-run git-daemon-sysvinit git-doc git-el git-arch git-cvs git-svn git-email git-gui gitk gitweb
The following NEW packages will be installed:
  git git-core git-man libcurl3-gnutls liberror-perl rpi-update rsync
0 upgraded, 7 newly installed, 0 to remove and 92 not upgraded.
Need to get 7646 kB of archives.
After this operation, 14.0 MB of additional disk space will be used.
Do you want to continue [Y/n]? Y

And here’s how to perform the update :

pi@raspberrypi ~ $ sudo rpi-update
